Shield AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Autonomy Capabilities team, responsible for developing autonomous behaviors within the company's industry-leading mission autonomy software stack. This role focuses on creating software solutions that enhance autonomous vehicle capabilities across multiple platforms, including the Anduril Fury, Northrop Grumman Talon, Shield AI V-Bat, and other first and third-party autonomous systems.
The Autonomy Capabilities team comprises experts in software engineering, robotics, control systems, optimization, and data analysis. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design and implementation of sophisticated autonomous behaviors that support defense and security operations worldwide. The role involves close collaboration with specialist teams in software integration, hardware engineering, and test engineering to solve complex technical challenges in autonomous systems.
Key responsibilities include developing and optimizing autonomy algorithms, integrating software across diverse hardware platforms, contributing to the mission autonomy software architecture, and working with cross-functional teams to validate and deploy autonomous capabilities. This is an individual contributor role at the senior level, where you will leverage deep technical expertise to advance Shield AI's autonomy technology stack and support customers operating in demanding environments globally.
