Shield AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Autonomy Capabilities Team, which develops functionality to automate single- and multi-agent teams of platforms in pursuit of mission objectives. This role operates across all levels of the command-and-control hierarchy, from advanced control laws and motion planning through tactical behaviors and multi-agent coordination, spanning multiple mission sets, platform types, and operational domains including air, sea, and space.
The Autonomy Capabilities Team serves as a central discipline-aligned focal point for encouraging consistent technical approaches across business portfolios. The team emphasizes both fundamentals—such as aircraft kinematics and dynamics, trajectory design, optimization, information fusion, and efficient algorithms—and software integration skillsets including structures, protocols, threading, and interface management.
