Salary: EUR 44,000 - 100,000 / annual
SingleStore is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Aura AI Platform team in Lisbon. You will design, build, and operate the infrastructure that powers customer workloads—including Notebooks, Jobs, Apps, AI Agents, and Model-serving—on top of SingleStore's distributed SQL database across multiple regions and clouds.
In this role, you'll work on critical platform services including container pool management, resource scaling, routing, RBAC, billing, observability, and secure network access between clusters. You'll own the full lifecycle of complex technical initiatives from conception through deployment, mentoring engineers and driving engineering standards across system design, code quality, testing, observability, and CI/CD pipelines.
Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining the platform powering SingleStore's intelligent services, leading cross-functional technical initiatives with product managers and designers, championing best practices to ensure reliable scaling, and sharing on-call responsibilities to improve reliability, security, and cost-efficiency of cloud infrastructure.
You'll need 4+ years of SaaS product experience, strong background with distributed systems (Golang, Python, or Rust), hands-on Kubernetes and containerized services expertise, and demonstrated ability to mentor peers and foster collaborative team culture. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience required.
Preferred qualifications include cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, Azure, GCP), background building developer platforms or ML platforms, React frontend experience, and prior technical leadership or mentoring experience.
