Salary: CAD 96,400 - 130,000 / annual
Zynga, a global leader in interactive entertainment and label of Take-Two Interactive, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Ad Monetization team. The role focuses on building high-quality playable ads and interactive creative units that transform approved creative concepts into polished, production-ready experiences.
You will own the technical execution of interactive advertising experiences—including mini-games, surveys, and other creative units—from implementation through deployment. Working closely with engineers, creative leads, and cross-functional partners, you'll ensure every build is reliable, performant, visually polished, and ready for production.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building high-quality playable ads and interactive creative units from approved storyboards, design assets, and creative briefs
- Implementing gameplay mechanics, interactive behaviors, transitions, animations, and UX elements for seamless user experience
- Integrating creative assets from designers and ensuring they display and perform as intended across supported environments
- Optimizing experiences for performance, responsiveness, file size, and reliability while maintaining creative quality
- Implementing tracking, analytics, and event instrumentation to measure creative performance
- Performing thorough self-QA to deliver production-ready builds with minimal oversight
- Taking ownership of assigned projects from technical kickoff through final delivery
- Proactively identifying opportunities to improve workflows, implementation efficiency, and build quality
- Consistently delivering dependable, high-quality work while meeting project timelines and production commitments
You'll be part of Zynga's global teams spanning North America, Europe, and Asia, working on a diverse portfolio of games including FarmVille, Words With Friends, Zynga Poker, and many others.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent)
- 6+ years of professional experience in software development
- Extensive experience designing front-end architecture and optimizing web performance
- Proficiency in web technologies: HTML5, CSS3
- Expertise in modern JavaScript (ES6+)
- Strong background in 2D HTML5 game frameworks (Phaser, CreateJS)
- Experience with 2D and 3D JS frameworks (PixiJS, ThreeJS)
- Strong understanding of 2D/3D coordinate systems, geometry, vector math, and pixel-level manipulation (ImageData)
- Experience working directly with HTML5 Canvas API to render and manipulate shapes, text, and images
- Proficiency in managing complex render loops, frame rates (FPS), and animations via requestAnimationFrame
- Experience with Responsive Web Design and creating fluid layouts across mobile, tablet, and desktop
- Experience with asset management and building efficient loading pipelines for preloading, caching, and optimizing game assets (spritesheets, audio sprites, JSON data)
- Photoshop experience highly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity
