Salary: USD 115,000 - 200,000 / annual
Vetcove is modernizing the $50B+ animal health industry with a suite of platforms including a procurement marketplace, ecommerce platform, and practice management system. The company serves 25,000+ veterinary hospitals across all 50 states and is backed by Y Combinator and top-tier venture investors.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be a key member of the engineering team responsible for projects from conception through completion. You'll contribute across the full technology stack, working on core platform features that impact tens of thousands of veterinary purchasers, hospital groups, and manufacturers.
Recent projects include a real-time analytics platform handling billions in purchase history, a dynamic advertising platform distributing millions in cashback rewards, a mobile shopping experience using phone cameras, and foundational work on modern architecture for seamless feature interactivity.
You'll contribute to feature conceptualization and documentation, build and extend React applications, implement React Native features, add test coverage, create reusable components, and work directly with the CTO and engineering team across functions. The role operates in a fully remote environment with a collaborative, fast-moving team.
Required: 2+ years professional software engineering experience (preferably web applications), Bachelor's degree (ideally CS), high proficiency in at least one industry-common language, experience building production applications in modern web frameworks, ability to design features around data models with accuracy/security/performance, database experience with query optimization, JavaScript fluency, strong testing habits, excellent communication, and ability to manage concurrent responsibilities.
Tech stack: Backend (Python, Django, Django Rest Framework), Frontend (JavaScript, React, Redux, TypeScript, Webpack), Datastores (Postgres, Elasticsearch, Redis), Mobile (React Native), Git. Startup experience is a plus.
