Salary: USD 191,000 - 293,000 / annual
Tanium is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and maintain best-of-breed products as part of a small, agile development team. The role emphasizes strong customer engagement and feedback processes to ensure products are designed correctly from inception. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying new product ideas from the ground up, while continuously iterating with product management and customers.

- Designing, developing, and testing new product ideas from conception through deployment
- Collaborating with product management for continuous feedback and refinement

This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of three days per week in one of the following offices: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; or Emeryville, CA.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (CS degree preferred)
- Must be eligible for U.S. federal contract work; ability to obtain Canadian Reliability status (Protected B) is a plus
- 5+ years industry experience (7+ preferred)
- Experience building large cloud-based data services
- Knowledge of at least one of: Golang (preferred), C++, or Rust
- Experience with PostgreSQL
- Experience with API design and development
- Experience with Azure or AWS Database Services
- Experience with cloud object storage (AWS S3 or Azure Blob Storage)
- Experience designing memory-efficient streaming and multipart data-transfer systems
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Experience with modern software engineering tools (git, CI/CD pipelines)
- Excellent judgment balancing rapid development, code maintainability, and supportability
- Strong commitment to automated testing as part of development
- Proven ability to debug and resolve production issues under pressure
- Knowledge of modern backend software frameworks and versatility to learn new tools and languages
