Spark Advisors is building healthcare technology to modernize Medicare coverage guidance for seniors. The company operates a rapidly growing platform serving 10,000+ independent Medicare brokers, combining AI, CRM, and client services to help advisors acquire, enroll, and support clients. The team includes talent from Square, Ramp, Yext, Oscar, and Cedar, backed by Primary Ventures and Viewpoint Ventures.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will drive technical progress across Spark's industry-leading web-based broker platform. You'll deliver full-stack features that directly impact Medicare beneficiaries and brokers, working on both frontend and backend systems. Your responsibilities include developing impactful features, collaborating with product and design teams to understand user needs, managing technical debt, and establishing development standards through code review and technical guidance.
You'll engage in diverse technical work: full-stack feature delivery, cross-functional collaboration on product scope and design, architectural decisions to support platform scalability, and promotion of best practices. The role emphasizes modern AI-powered developer tools and your ability to leverage them effectively.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of professional software development experience with meaningful hands-on work in both modern JavaScript (Vue, React) and Python/backend web development. You should be comfortable with ambiguity, thrive in fast-paced environments, and have strong product intuition. Experience with AWS, Django, or technical leadership is a plus. The role values communication, project management, attention to detail, and commitment to a growth-oriented team culture.
