SoFi is a next-generation financial services company and national bank using mobile-first technology to help millions of members reach their financial goals. We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend systems for our financial technology platforms.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build secure, reliable software services. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining microservices using Java and Kotlin, designing and implementing APIs and service interfaces (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) for distributed systems, and building backend workflows and batch processing systems for large-scale data operations.
You'll implement workflow orchestration and scheduling for reliable, fault-tolerant processing using tools like Spring Batch and Temporal. You'll develop data integrations and pipelines across relational, NoSQL, and data-warehouse technologies including PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Snowflake. Your work will contribute to distributed system architecture ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability, with implementation of resilience features such as rate limiting, throttling, and fault-tolerance strategies.
Additionally, you'll improve observability through logging, monitoring, and alerting systems, troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement system reliability improvements. You'll write maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to code reviews, CI/CD workflows, and overall system quality efforts.
This is a hybrid role based in our San Francisco office with part-time telecommuting options available.
