Salary: USD 140,000 - 215,000 / annual
SingleStore is hiring Senior Software Engineers to build the real-time data platform powering demanding applications worldwide. The role focuses on developing core database engine features in a cloud-native architecture that handles both high-performance transactional and analytical workloads at scale.
You will work on small, collaborative teams owning projects end-to-end while partnering with Product, Sales, and Go-To-Market teams. Responsibilities include developing database engine features based on company direction and customer requirements, delivering bug-free code in low-level C++ environments, translating customer requirements into actionable software features, and learning cutting-edge technologies from industry and academia to optimize SingleStore's architecture.
The role involves designing and executing comprehensive test plans using Python, C++, and SQL; using low-level debugging techniques (GDB, Flame graphs) to fix problems and improve performance; working on distributed systems algorithms and core database engine components; and participating in code reviews and design reviews for quality assurance.
Required qualifications include 5+ years developing and debugging system-level software in unmanaged languages (C++ or Rust), a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, and demonstrated ability to design and build highly reliable, high-performance system software.
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of database architecture and operating systems, and familiarity with distributed systems managed via Kubernetes.
