As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and build reliable, fault-tolerant, scalable, and performant technical solutions. You'll write high-quality, maintainable code (often with AI assistance), participate in code reviews and design sessions, and launch new features with excellent customer experiences. You'll collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to scope work and explore build options, while fostering security best practices throughout the codebase.
The technical stack includes Ruby on Rails, Python (Flask), JavaScript (Hotwire, React.js, Next.js), PostgreSQL, AWS infrastructure managed via Terraform, and observability tools like Datadog, Posthog, Rollbar, and Sentry. The team actively uses Claude AI tools to accelerate development.
Ideal candidates have 5-10 years building production-grade, high-volume software systems with professional coding experience in Ruby, Python, or JavaScript. You should have full-stack capabilities or willingness to learn across the stack, experience with server-side concepts (microservices, caching, performance, monitoring, scalability), modern databases like PostgreSQL, git/GitHub, CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Semaphore), and AWS cloud technologies. Experience with AI tools to accelerate engineering work is expected. A plus: fintech, insurance, or banking experience; professional Ruby/Rails background; or exposure to data pipeline tooling like Fivetran or dbt.
