Ping Identity is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the PingOne SSO team within their multi-tenant SaaS product development organization. The team builds, enhances, and operates PingOne Authentication and SSO as a market-leading service, owning core customer-facing services related to applications, resources, external identity providers, and sign-on policies.
In this role, you will design, build, test, and deliver features across PingOne Authentication and SSO services in a high-scale multi-tenant SaaS environment. You'll implement secure, reliable Java-based microservices and APIs that support authentication, authorization flows, SSO, federation, and application integrations. You'll contribute to technical designs and engineering decisions that balance product requirements, system performance, reliability, security, and operational simplicity.
Key responsibilities include partnering closely with Product Management, Architecture, UX, SRE, and peer engineering teams to shape solutions from discovery through production rollout. You'll improve service resilience, observability, operability, and deployment safety for mission-critical customer-facing services. You'll contribute to engineering quality through strong testing, automation, code reviews, and maintainable implementation practices in a continuous deployment environment.
You'll use modern engineering and AI-assisted development practices to improve team effectiveness, quality, and delivery speed, and participate in the team's on-call rotation to help lead incident response, root-cause analysis, and follow-through actions for production issues.
Essential qualifications include working knowledge of OIDC, SAML, and WS-Fed with SSO/federation integration experience; significant hands-on experience building and deploying highly scalable, high-performance cloud services in multi-tenant SaaS environments; demonstrated Senior-level Java development experience with fluency in object-oriented design and modern engineering practices; UI development experience with ReactJS preferred; experience designing and building microservices and REST APIs using Spring or similar frameworks; strong technical judgment and track record in technical designs and architecture discussions; strong interpersonal communication skills for working across globally distributed teams; production SaaS operations experience including on-call responsibilities; and comfort with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and modern build and delivery tooling.
