Ping Identity is a cloud identity platform company serving Fortune 100 enterprises. This Senior Software Engineer role sits within the Platform Engineering team, which is focused on building Ping's identity and AI offerings to secure and govern AI agents. You will deliver Identity & Access Management (IAM) capabilities across the Ping platform, spanning the full stack from infrastructure and databases through to user interfaces. Key responsibilities include: - Design and implement APIs, models, workflows, orchestration surfaces, and services for IAM and AI agent identity governance - Research and prototype solutions in emerging areas, collaborating with senior technical leaders and product teams to validate ideas and turn them into product features - Work closely with product management, UX, and engineering teams across Ping to refine features and designs for elegant, usable, and scalable customer outcomes - Participate in the full development lifecycle: design, coding, testing, rollout, and production support - Leverage modern AI tooling (e.g., Claude Code) as part of day-to-day engineering work to accelerate research, code understanding, prototyping, implementation, and documentation - Communicate clearly, share knowledge, and support other engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and delivery - Thrive in a rapidly changing environment, continuously adapting to evolving customer needs and technology trends Required experience includes: - Ability to design, build, test, and operate production services using Java, JavaScript, Google Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes - Experience building production services, distributed systems, or shared platform capabilities - Expertise designing and implementing APIs, RESTful services, integration contracts, and data/domain models - Proven ability to turn requirements and ambiguous problems into designs, prototypes, and production-ready solutions - Experience with authentication, authorization, and identity management - Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and time zones - Proficiency with AI engineering tools while maintaining sound engineering judgment Bonus qualifications include experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, token exchange, policy systems, AI agent identity, MCP, agent skills, distributed systems at scale, and international team collaboration.
