As a Senior Software Engineer on the Formstack team (part of Intellistack), you will design, develop, test, and deploy production-quality software across multiple applications and shared platform services. You'll contribute across both frontend and backend codebases, applying strong engineering fundamentals without requiring deep specialization in a single area.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement improvements to reliability, security, maintainability, and engineering velocity
- Own and improve development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation
- Maintain and modernize application dependencies and runtime environments
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production issues spanning multiple products and services
- Partner with Platform Engineering, Product, and Customer Support teams
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews
- Mentor other engineers through code reviews and technical guidance
- Leverage AI-powered development tools to improve productivity and delivery velocity
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for production support
You should have 6+ years of professional software engineering experience developing and supporting customer-facing SaaS applications. Strong full-stack development experience with modern web technologies is essential, along with experience working across multiple products or large distributed applications. You'll need solid understanding of software engineering best practices (GitHub workflows, automated testing, CI/CD), experience deploying and supporting applications on AWS or similar cloud platforms, and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex production issues.
Bonus experience includes React, JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, Laravel, Java, Node.js, GitHub Actions improvements, Docker, observability platforms (Datadog, Sumo Logic, CloudWatch, Sentry), enterprise-scale SaaS support, and mentoring engineers.
