Okta's Technology, Data, and Insights (TDI) DevProd Engineering team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to serve as a technical authority for cloud infrastructure and CI/CD platforms that power the company's AI platform and broader workloads. This is a hands-on, high-impact role at a critical inflection point as Okta scales its AI capabilities and transforms its DevProd engineering practice.
You will architect and build resilient, highly scalable cloud solutions leveraging AWS, Kubernetes, and modern GitOps toolsets. Key responsibilities include designing next-generation deployment pipelines using Argo CD, Argo Events, and Argo Workflows; defining CI/CD and GitOps standards; collaborating with business stakeholders, product managers, and security teams to align technical roadmaps; and taking complete ownership of engineering deliverables from discovery through production deployment.
You will drive engineering excellence by leveraging DORA metrics to measure and optimize platform performance, delivery speed, and reliability. You'll provide detailed level-of-effort estimates, articulate architectural trade-offs and risk mitigations, and lead by example in writing clean, modular code with comprehensive test suites.
Required qualifications include 6+ years of hands-on software development, cloud systems design, and large-scale infrastructure engineering. You must have deep expertise in Argo CD, Argo Events, Argo Workflows, and Kubernetes (EKS); proven proficiency with Terraform and Helm Charts; strong coding ability in Python and/or Java; comprehensive AWS experience including Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, Secrets Manager, RDS, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB; and practical knowledge of cloud networking and security configurations.
