LeoLabs is building the living map of activity in space through a proprietary global radar network and AI-enabled analytics platform. The company collects millions of measurements daily on 25,000+ objects in low Earth orbit, providing space domain awareness, space traffic management, and satellite operations intelligence to commercial and government customers.
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Cloud Software team, which develops mission-critical systems powering real-time decisions for protecting and managing satellites and objects in low-Earth orbit. This role focuses on full-stack software development across multiple technical domains including orbit maintenance and tracking, customer analytics, AI/ML data pipelines, radar network orchestration, and APIs/UIs with strict uptime SLAs.
Key responsibilities include developing full-stack software for DOD/IC contracts, translating customer requirements into engineering solutions, ensuring reliability and security across production systems, owning critical system components through the full development lifecycle (including on-call support), and leveraging generative AI to improve software quality.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with significant time building cloud-based distributed systems at scale. Required qualifications include an active TS/SCI clearance with DOD/IC delivery experience, a degree in Computer Science or equivalent, proficiency in Python, Go, or similar languages, and strong understanding of architecture patterns, service boundaries, and API design. Experience with radar, sensor, defense, aerospace, or real-time data processing systems is highly valued, as is enthusiasm for generative AI in software development.
This is a remote position with the requirement that candidates be located in either the Denver, CO or San Francisco Bay Area and maintain periodic SCIF access capability.
