The company automates patient billing and payments, modernizes patient support experiences, and provides AI-powered support through phone and live chat. You will join the engineering team to scale and enhance AI offerings, focusing on creating new AI features and enhancing existing ones. The role emphasizes full-stack development with Ruby on Rails backend and React frontend, with significant work integrating LLM APIs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Writing clean, high-quality, maintainable code and designing REST API resources consumed by partners and client applications
- Designing and implementing REST API resources, workers, and automated tasks using Ruby on Rails
- Working with product teams to determine performant software design patterns and converting specifications into actionable tasks
- Handling complex data modeling and performance testing for systems processing thousands of requests per second
- Writing complex SQL queries for PostgreSQL and unit tests in RSpec
- Debugging production issues across services and the full stack
- Creating user interfaces using modern best practices and toolsets
- Mentoring and pairing with team members
- Coordinating cross-functionally to ensure projects meet business objectives and compliance standards
- Supporting test and deployment of products and features
Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proficiency with Ruby programming language and Ruby on Rails framework
- Strong understanding of JavaScript and front-end development in Single-Page Application frameworks (React preferred)
- Experience with LLM APIs
- Proficiency with database and code modeling
- Strong debugging skills
- Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies
- Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Must reside in Guatemala with ability to travel to Guatemala City as needed
