As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain industry-first products that simplify retirement account management for employers and participants. You'll work on business-critical, foundational services that form the data backbone of the platform, collaborating with domain experts to create robust, observable, and scalable systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and building user experiences for both external and internal customers
- Developing and maintaining foundational services that power the entire platform
- Improving complex processes to reduce manual intervention and increase reliability
- Collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to share knowledge and build expertise
- Taking ownership of system domains and making informed engineering tradeoffs
- Directing AI agents across the full development lifecycle—from prototyping and implementation to debugging and code review, acting as architect and decision-maker while AI handles execution
- Identifying opportunities to automate repetitive engineering work and improve code quality through AI-driven tools
- Advocating for and delighting both internal and external users
You bring 6+ years of production software experience with proficiency in Node, TypeScript, Kotlin, React, AWS, PostgreSQL, and Kafka. You're skilled at leveraging AI coding assistants (Codex, Claude, Cursor) to accelerate development. Strong communication skills, mentoring ability, and a proactive, empathetic mindset are essential. Startup and fintech experience is valued. You're driven to learn, think creatively, and solve customer problems.
