G2 is the world's largest software marketplace, recently unified with Capterra, SoftwareAdvice, and GetApp to create a comprehensive B2B software insights platform serving 200M+ annual visitors with 6M+ verified reviews. The company is transforming how software buyers and sellers make decisions in the age of AI. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will architect and deliver AI-powered products and features end-to-end, with primary focus on building agent-first solutions. You'll design and implement agents that leverage prompts, context, tools, and model reasoning to fulfill user journeys, automate processes, and generate content. Your responsibilities span the full software stack—from architecture and implementation through production release—with emphasis on observable, maintainable, and scalable systems. Key responsibilities include: (1) Building AI and agent-first products (60% of role)—contributing across frontend and backend to deliver production-ready user journeys, designing agents using frontier models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google), applying sound system design principles, and validating solutions through traditional QA, model-based evaluations, and agent tracing; (2) Actively shaping product definition as a technologist (35%)—partnering with designers and product managers to ideate, prototype, and ship MVP iterations that advance organizational goals, balancing UX quality with business pragmatism, and bringing engineering perspective to scoping and prioritization; (3) Influencing the broader engineering team (5%)—sharing agentic software engineering practices, championing AI-driven solutions, and accelerating team execution. You will work in an AI-first environment, delegating implementation to AI agents (Claude Code, Codex, etc.), reviewing outcomes, and guiding architecture as part of daily workflow. The role requires 5–8 years of software engineering experience building enterprise-scale applications, strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript or Python with modern frameworks (React, Next.js, Rails), broad full-stack ownership, deep understanding of data schemas, databases, APIs, and AWS infrastructure, and hands-on experience building AI/agent-powered features. Golang experience is preferred but not required.
