Duolingo is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to join the Monetization Pillar, which drives the company's key business initiatives around subscriptions, ads, and in-app purchases. The role focuses on building premium experiences for learners while ensuring business sustainability.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, data science, machine learning, and ad operations teams to develop and refine monetization methods. Primary responsibilities include developing, releasing, and maintaining native iOS applications in Swift, collaborating on software projects spanning product design and backend integration, and mentoring junior engineers to set technical direction across the company.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, strong foundation in computer science (data structures, algorithms, software design), and programming experience in Swift. Exceptional candidates will demonstrate strong Swift proficiency with production-level applications, deep technical knowledge of iOS development for iPhone/iPad using Cocoa Touch frameworks, experience designing clean APIs, multithreaded programming expertise, unit testing and testable code practices, and knowledge of iOS SDK performance tools and optimization techniques.
