Develop Health is using AI to accelerate access to life-saving medications by automating complex healthcare processes like benefit verification and prior authorization. The company has already helped over 2.5 million patients and is scaling rapidly after a major funding round, partnering with major pharmacy benefit managers and payers. You will be a Senior Software Engineer building full-stack software that removes obstacles between prescriptions and treatment. This is a hands-on role spanning problem definition, implementation, launch, and production validation. You'll build Python services and APIs, TypeScript and React interfaces, integrations, and AI-powered workflows, working directly with Product, AI, and Operations teams and end users. In your first 3–6 months, you'll work with users and stakeholders to define meaningful problems and smallest useful solutions, ship full-stack product features across backend services, user interfaces, data models, integrations, and workflow infrastructure, integrate AI capabilities with production-grade reliability and fallbacks, make pragmatic product and technical trade-offs, and build testing, observability, and user feedback into your work. Beyond 12 months, you'll own major product surfaces and customer/operational outcomes, shape product direction using customer evidence and operational data, scale architecture and APIs as products and transaction volume grow, raise the team's bar for product quality and engineering, and mentor other engineers. You'll use coding agents to investigate systems and accelerate implementation while retaining ownership of product behavior, technical decisions, testing, and production outcomes. AI is integrated into how the team works. REQUIREMENTS: - At least 3 years of production full-stack experience building and shipping software that real users depend on - Strong engineering fundamentals: effective in Python and a modern typed frontend stack, able to ramp quickly on TypeScript and React - End-to-end product ownership mindset: comfortable starting with ambiguous problems, working with users to shape solutions, and carrying through implementation and measured results - User-facing craft: care about whether complex workflows feel clear and trustworthy, as well as technical soundness - AI-native execution: coding agents materially change how you investigate and build, and you verify their output rather than delegating judgment - Clear communication across engineers, product partners, operators, and customers BONUS: - Experience building AI-powered or automation-heavy products in production - Healthcare domain experience (clinical workflows, EHRs, payers, pharmacies, or regulated domains) - Early-stage startup experience or evidence of thriving with high ownership and limited structure - Experience with workflow products, data-heavy interfaces, or third-party integrations
