Clear Street is modernizing the brokerage ecosystem with a cloud-native clearing and custody platform that processes billions in trading volume daily. The Risk Engineering (RENG) team measures portfolio risk for both clients and the firm using methodologies like Reg-T and Portfolio Margin.
In this role, you will architect and implement scalable backend services and storage layers for risk-based metrics, design efficient user interfaces for internal and external stakeholders, and collaborate across engineering, product, business, operations, and compliance teams. You'll become an expert in various risk methodologies and build systems to quantify and manage risks in real-time.
Key responsibilities include implementing user-facing interfaces, architecting new backend services, collecting and breaking down requirements into technical designs, and working cross-functionally with non-technical stakeholders.
You bring at least 5 years of experience building scalable backend services with statically-typed languages (Go or Java preferred), a BS in Computer Science or related discipline, and experience building efficient UIs with TypeScript and React. Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for exploring new technologies are essential.
The tech stack includes React, TypeScript, Go, Python, gRPC, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and Snowflake. Clear Street requires 4 days per week in-office beginning January 2, 2023, with in-office benefits including lunch stipends, fully stocked kitchens, and happy hours. The company offers competitive compensation, equity, 401k matching, gender-neutral parental leave, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
