Join Brex's Accounting Engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer to build the platform that transforms Brex activity into accurate, usable accounting data. You'll own the systems finance teams depend on to close their books: reusable accounting records, rules, and mappings; reliable ERP integrations with NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, and Oracle; and AI-native automation that predicts accounting work while keeping customers in control.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining the core accounting platform with versioned APIs that product teams and external partners can extend without one-off solutions. You'll own ERP connectivity end-to-end, handling sync, error recovery, and rate-limit management across multiple enterprise systems. You'll implement customer-facing close experiences using React/TypeScript, allowing finance teams to review, configure, reconcile, and export financial activity.
You'll design distributed systems where correctness is non-negotiable, making idempotency, reconciliation, traceability, and proactive issue detection first-class architectural concerns. Collaboration is central: you'll work with Product, Design, Data Science, and Implementation teams to translate complex accounting concepts into simple experiences. You'll also integrate ML models in production, working with predicted GL coding and mappings while preserving explainability and human review.
The role requires owning problems end-to-end, from user experience and API design to data models, scalability, and observability. You'll participate in on-call rotation and maintain high operational standards for mission-critical systems.
Based in São Paulo with a hybrid model requiring three coordinated days in office (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) per week, plus up to four weeks annual fully remote work.
