BigID is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Data Security group. The role focuses on building next-generation defense systems that combine data-layer and AI-layer security to protect against insider risks and unauthorized access.
You will take complete ownership of features end-to-end across the full software development lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build highly scalable microservices using Java and Node.js with robust REST APIs capable of handling massive data volumes
- Develop high-performance streaming, search, and storage pipelines using Kafka, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, and NoSQL databases (MongoDB) to monitor and analyze high-volume activity logs
- Own the entire SDLC from architectural design through deployment and monitoring
- Create advanced security tools providing real-time visibility into data usage, shadow AI detection, and AI model/agent security
Required qualifications:
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong backend systems and scalable cloud architecture focus
- Proven expertise in Java and/or Node.js microservices, RESTful API design, and hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL data stores (MongoDB)
- Practical knowledge of Kafka event streaming, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch search indexing, and containerized deployment (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong drive to explore and build agentic workflows using advanced AI tools
- Highly proactive, independent mindset with track record of autonomous feature delivery and creative problem-solving
