Atoms is building Physical AI—real-world robots for industries that move civilization forward, starting with food, mining, and transport. The company integrates hardware, software, AI, operations, and manufacturing to deploy intelligent systems into real environments at scale.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a technical leader responsible for connecting Atoms' core food infrastructure platform with external systems used by restaurant partners, while raising the technical bar of the engineering team.
Key responsibilities include:
• Architect and implement robust, scalable, and secure API integrations that reliably exchange critical data (orders, menus, status updates) between the platform and external systems like Point-of-Sale (POS) and ERPs.
• Lead backend development using modern practices and core languages including Java, Go, Kotlin, C++, C#, Scala, or Rust.
• Own data flow across complex systems, defining best practices for querying, synchronizing, and modeling critical restaurant data at scale.
• Partner closely with Product Managers and external stakeholders globally to define integration strategy and specifications, ensuring tangible business value and positive customer impact.
• Own complex technical projects end-to-end, from architectural design through testing and full deployment, and mentor other engineers to elevate team quality and velocity.
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree, ideally in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of professional experience as a Backend or Integration Software Engineer, preferably in big tech or similarly fast-moving organizations.
• Deep, proven ability to deliver production-ready code in at least one core backend language (Java, Go, Kotlin, C++, or C#).
• Demonstrated experience owning projects where you can articulate clear impact on technical architecture and business problem-solving.
• Good English proficiency for collaboration with the global team.
• Proactive, problem-solving mindset with willingness to grow and tackle technical challenges.
The role is based in São Paulo with five-day-per-week onsite expectations. Atoms is a company driven by invention and continuous change, reimagining industries and building new products.
