Salary: USD 109,500 - 150,550 / annual

The Platform Extracts team builds reliable, flexible data pipelines to deliver high-quality data from Renaissance products to customers and partners, enabling educators to personalize learning paths and see every student.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Assessment Delivery team, you will own the end-to-end Ed-Fi Assessment Outcomes API delivery system, including data transformation, pipeline execution, and customer-facing configuration tooling. You'll optimize AWS-based file delivery infrastructure, support internal and customer-facing UIs, and contribute to Ed-Fi certification compliance by maintaining field mappings and supporting certification testing.
Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining custom data transformation models for partnership reporting requirements, building data quality tooling so customers trust the data they receive, and mentoring teammates to establish engineering patterns for the growing data delivery domain.
You bring 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with emphasis on cloud-based data delivery and integration. You have advanced SQL skills and experience with modern ELT tooling (e.g., dbt). You've designed, operated, and optimized cloud-based ETL pipelines delivering data to external API endpoints and file systems. You understand industry-standard data specifications and maintain robust data contracts. You've built efficient internal tooling for customer-facing teams and have experience with data quality tooling, error reporting, or observability for data pipelines.
You're domain-curious, ownership-oriented, collaborative across engineering/product/customer teams, and adaptable as requirements evolve. Bonus experience includes Snowflake, Ed-Fi data spec, serverless/event-driven AWS architectures, K-12 education data, self-serve customer tooling with modern UI frameworks, and remote Agile/DevOps practices.
