Take2 AI is building an AI agents platform purpose-built for healthcare recruiting. The platform automates end-to-end recruiting workflows—sourcing, screening, credential verification, scheduling, and onboarding—using multi-agent AI systems and RAG. The company works with enterprise healthcare customers, including some of the largest health systems in the USA.
As a Senior Software Engineer, Applied AI, you will own applied-AI work end-to-end, from prototyping and model selection through production reliability. You'll design, build, and scale the AI systems powering Take2's autonomous healthcare recruiting platform as it grows from thousands to millions of candidate conversations.
Key responsibilities include: designing and building applied AI-powered features and agentic workflows (RAG, multi-agent networks, agent communication); selecting, integrating, evaluating, and tuning models for voice AI pipelines (STT/TTS/VAD) balancing quality, latency, cost, and reliability; building evaluation, guardrail, and observability systems to ensure safe, measurable AI behavior at scale; owning backend services and data/inference pipelines serving applied-AI features in production; and collaborating closely with product and founding engineering to rapidly prototype and deliver with significant technical ownership.
Required experience: 6+ years software engineering (backend or full-stack) with significant ML and Applied AI work; Bachelor's in Computer Science or Computer Engineering; shipped multi-agent AI solutions with real-time inference to live users at scale; designed agent orchestration and evaluation frameworks; shipped production AI applications integrating ML models into live systems; built and operated distributed backend systems with monitoring and observability; strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, Node.js, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker; 2+ years at early to mid-stage startup (Series B or lower).
Preferred: self-hosting AI/ML models for voice AI pipelines with tuning and optimization; owning and operating distributed systems in high-throughput, streaming, low-latency environments; hands-on integration and optimization of STT, TTS, VAD, and LLMs for real-time voice agents; scaled and optimized voice pipelines for low latency and high availability.
The role is high-ownership, hands-on, and highly technical—ideal for someone who thrives in a startup environment. Take2 is NYC-based and works hybrid (in-office Mon-Thu). Compensation includes competitive salary and meaningful equity.
