Flock Freight seeks a Senior Software Engineer, Applied AI to drive measurable business impact through AI adoption across the organization. This is a hands-on, forward-deployed role where you'll embed with teams across the business to identify high-value workflows and build AI-powered agents, copilot experiences, and intelligent automations.
You will own problems end-to-end: from discovery and prototyping through production delivery and adoption. Working closely with Platform Ops and business teams, you'll understand real workflows, prototype quickly with users, iterate based on feedback, support rollout and enablement, and measure whether solutions create durable value. The focus extends beyond reducing time to insight—you'll help teams use AI to make better decisions, complete work faster, and improve operational outcomes through self-service data access, embedded copilots, workflow automation, and agentic experiences.
Key responsibilities include forward-deployed discovery and delivery (embedding with business teams to translate ambiguous problems into clear solution hypotheses and production plans), designing and building AI agents and copilots using LLMs, RAG, tool calling, and agentic frameworks, connecting AI capabilities to enterprise data systems (Snowflake, operational databases, APIs), supporting adoption and organizational enablement through rollout and change management, and defining success measures to track adoption and business impact.
You'll have a secondary focus on contributing to Freight Factory automation as product roadmap priorities dictate. This role has natural optionality with a path into broader product engineering over time.
Required: 3–5+ years of software engineering experience with at least 1 year delivering applied AI, ML, or intelligent automation in production. Hands-on experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, etc.), including prompt engineering, RAG, function/tool calling, evaluations, and agentic patterns. Strong software engineering fundamentals, system design, and ability to ship reliable production applications at high velocity. Strong Python proficiency and experience with APIs, data pipelines, integrations, and cloud-based architectures. Git/GitHub, CI/CD, observability, and modern development practices.
Preferred: Experience embedding with customers or internal teams to discover workflows in ambiguous spaces; driving adoption of new technical capabilities; agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI); enterprise AI platforms (OpenClaw, Glean, Claude Cowork); agentic process automation or RPA platforms; logistics or operations-heavy industry experience.
