Flexport is building AI agents that transform global supply chain operations. This role focuses on designing and shipping end-to-end AI agents that handle real logistics work—customs compliance, document processing, exception management, and autonomous problem-solving across 112 countries.
You'll work on the cutting edge of applied AI in enterprise logistics, building agents that spot supply chain disruptions before they happen, reroute shipments, and keep goods moving with human experts in the loop. The team is small, senior, and reports directly to the VP of Engineering, giving your work immediate visibility and impact.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and shipping production AI agents that handle real logistics workflows
- Crossing organizational boundaries to deeply understand problems and align stakeholders
- Moving fast from concept to production, treating each deployment as a learning opportunity
- Working directly with operators, domain experts, and leadership to turn ambiguous problems into shipped solutions
- Building full-stack features end-to-end using TypeScript and Next.js
You'll need 5+ years of software engineering experience with extensive LLM work (production, side projects, or deep exploration). Strong product instincts are essential—you identify what's worth building, not just execute specs. You should be fluent in agent patterns, RAG, prompt engineering, tool use, and evaluation. Full-stack capability in TypeScript and Next.js is required. An entrepreneurial mindset is critical: you thrive in ambiguity, move fast, and don't wait to be told what to do.
The tech stack includes Next.js, TypeScript, Postgres, Snowflake, and frontier AI models from Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google. The team works hybrid (3 days/week in office) with latest hardware and software. This is an opportunity to help write the playbook for applied AI in enterprise logistics—the playbook doesn't exist yet, and you'll shape it.
