CoMind is developing non-invasive neuromonitoring technology to transform clinical brain monitoring and improve diagnosis and treatment of brain disorders. As a Senior Software Engineer on the CoVision project, you will build the platform that transforms raw neuro-signals into longitudinal patient insights, defining a new standard of care in neuro-critical settings. You will develop, maintain, and optimize Large Language Model software that derives actionable intelligence from CoMind's fleet of neuromonitoring products. This role bridges advanced AI research with production-ready, regulated medical software, ensuring reliability across deployed systems. Key responsibilities include: integrating on-device LLMs into the CoMind One system connected to live neuromonitoring signals; owning model evaluation and reliability through measurement frameworks, prompting strategies, and guardrails for bedside safety; optimizing inference performance on constrained hardware (latency, memory, throughput); designing medical device software compliant with IEC 62304 and ISO 14971; ensuring AI deployments meet FDA guidance and cybersecurity standards; and collaborating with hardware, product, and clinical teams to maintain fleet reliability. Required experience: 7+ years hands-on software engineering; proficiency in C++ with Python; practical LLM experience including prompting, guardrails, RAG, and evaluation; demonstrated integration of models into production products; experience with third-party library integration in performance-sensitive systems; strong understanding of latency, memory, and throughput optimization on constrained hardware; Git and CI/CD expertise. Desirable: edge/on-device AI experience (Jetson, Android, iPad, Raspberry Pi, microcontrollers); hands-on with llama.cpp and small model evaluation (Qwen, Gemma, MedGemma); hardware exposure; AWS cloud experience with LLMs; background in regulated or safety-critical industries. The role is based in London with a hybrid arrangement: minimum 4 days per week in the Kings Cross office plus one flexible work-from-home day. The company emphasizes AI as fundamental to culture and expects continuous exploration of AI applications in daily work.
