You will join the API Enterprise team, which sits at the intersection of DeepL's API platform and enterprise ecosystem. While the Core team focuses on self-service developer experience, your team owns enterprise adoption: usage insights, cost controls, RBAC, compliance, and data residency capabilities that enterprise IT and security teams depend on. You'll work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholder teams to make DeepL's API the obvious and safe choice for global enterprises.
Key responsibilities include:
• Drive Enterprise API Adoption: Own features that convert enterprise interest into durable adoption—usage insights, cost and consumption controls, governance tooling that helps large organizations understand and manage DeepL API usage.
• Build for Governance & Compliance: Design controls for enterprise IT and security admins (roles/permissions, projects, data residency, auditability), positioning DeepL as the compliant default for regulated global organizations.
• Guardianship of Quality & Production Reliability: Own services end-to-end, including on-call rotation participation. Target four nines of API reliability through strong contract testing, monitoring, SLOs, and prevention of breaking changes and security vulnerabilities.
• Architect Across the Enterprise Ecosystem: Navigate DeepL's technical and organizational structures, manage cross-team dependencies, and ship cohesive, reliable enterprise capabilities.
You bring deep expertise in backend systems design and scalable RESTful APIs, primarily in C# / .NET, with production experience in high-scale distributed systems. ~80-90% of work is backend; React/TypeScript frontend work is a welcome plus. You understand enterprise platform building blocks (MCP, CLIs, OAuth) and have led projects across multiple teams. You own services end-to-end—production operations, incident response, on-call—and are motivated by pushing reliability. You leverage AI-powered tools (Claude, Copilot) to accelerate delivery and focus on high-value architecture. Bonus: experience with zero-downtime migrations on live systems.
