Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced autonomy, AI, and sensor fusion. The Cyber business line is a new division focused on enabling offensive cyber missions by leveraging Anduril's fleet of autonomous vehicles, Lattice OS (an AI-powered command and control platform), mesh networks, and hardware products to deploy cyber capabilities in unconventional or difficult-to-reach environments. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Cyber team, you will own end-to-end software solutions from inception through customer deployment. Your work spans embedded systems, backend services, and mission-critical integrations. You'll architect and build software across device control, telemetry, storage, APIs, tasking workflows, and operator-facing interfaces—with scope weighted toward either embedded-platform or mission/backend work based on your strengths. Key responsibilities include: owning low-level Linux work such as board bring-up, boot sequencing, device-tree integration, and hardware/software debugging; developing backend services and APIs that connect edge systems, data products, and mission workflows; incorporating AI/LLM features to enhance operator effectiveness; collaborating with FPGA, DSP, test, and systems engineering teams to resolve integration issues; and contributing to technical leadership and long-term software maintainability. You'll solve diverse technical challenges involving networking, autonomy, systems integration, and robotics while making pragmatic engineering tradeoffs. The role demands a "Whatever It Takes" mindset—executing expeditiously and pragmatically while keeping the mission top-of-mind and delivering high-quality outcomes on time. Required: Strong software engineering experience in C, C++, Python, Go, Rust, or modern TypeScript/React; hands-on embedded Linux expertise (board bring-up, bootloaders, device trees, drivers); experience building APIs and backend services integrated with hardware-adjacent systems; full-stack debugging capability; ability to design maintainable software architectures; cross-functional collaboration skills; strong technical communication; and an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
