Qedma is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong Python expertise to bridge research and production environments in quantum computing. You will own software components end-to-end, from design and architecture through implementation, testing, performance optimization, and productionization. Working closely with quantum physicists and researchers, you'll transform complex algorithmic concepts and research prototypes into robust, scalable production systems.
Key responsibilities include implementing and integrating complex algorithms in collaboration with research teams, developing and maintaining code across research support systems and core product development, and designing software that is robust, scalable, maintainable, and correct across performance-sensitive and edge-case-heavy scenarios.
This role is centered on software architecture, implementation quality, algorithms, performance, scalability, robustness, and maintainability. UI, database-heavy work, and DevOps are minimal. You'll solve complex computational and mathematically intensive engineering problems at the intersection of production software, algorithms, and quantum computing. Prior quantum experience is advantageous but not required. The position offers the unique opportunity to work on emerging quantum computing technology while maintaining high software engineering standards.
