Surefire Cyber is a cybersecurity incident response company redefining how organizations prepare, respond to, and recover from cyber threats like ransomware, email compromise, and data theft. The company was founded by industry veterans with deep experience working alongside law firms, insurance carriers, and impacted organizations.
You will join as a Senior Software Engineer reporting to the Head of Engineering, building greenfield AI-native applications and owning critical infrastructure. This is a full-stack generalist role spanning Python backends, React frontends, AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and AI-driven workflows. You will write production-quality code, make architecture decisions, and operate the systems you build—a startup environment where you ship working software every sprint on a 2-week cadence.
Key responsibilities include: building Python applications using agentic methods (Claude Code, LangChain, or equivalent frameworks); architecting multi-agent pipelines with role separation and context injection; designing and implementing RESTful and event-driven APIs; owning AWS infrastructure across dev, staging, and production environments (Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions); building monitoring and observability; and ensuring infrastructure meets security and compliance requirements.
You will serve as an individual contributor supporting both existing Python/React applications in active customer use and new greenfield builds. Success means shipping code to production by the end of your first sprint, developing a working mental model of the environment within 30 days, and consistently improving systems around you.
Required expertise: strong software engineering fundamentals independent of AI tooling; full-stack capability (Python, API design, databases, React); production-level AWS experience (VPC, EC2/ECS/Lambda, IAM, RDS, S3, Kubernetes); Terraform proficiency; GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD at production scale; comfort operating with autonomy on a small team; willingness to work beyond normal hours as needed.
Strongly preferred: hands-on experience building or operating AI agent workflows using Claude Code, LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, or equivalent frameworks.
