Backed by ~$500M in funding from Founders Fund, Lux, BlackRock, and Microsoft, with strategic partnerships including Microsoft, Dell, Palantir, NVIDIA, SpaceX, and Skydio, the company is building the infrastructure layer for AI deployments that cannot rely on centralized cloud.
In this Senior Software Engineer role, you will design and implement Armada's on-premise Compute as a Service (CaaS) and GPU as a Service (GPUaaS) platforms. You'll own the architectural design and implementation of scalable, efficient infrastructure on bare metal clusters, integrating key technologies including hypervisors (KVM), container runtimes (Docker, containerd), orchestration (Kubernetes), and GPU virtualization (Kubevirt, vGPU).
Key responsibilities include: architecting and building the CaaS/GPUaaS platform; implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting systems; optimizing performance and resource utilization on bare metal infrastructure; designing and developing a cloud-integrated marketplace for application deployment; building backend services and APIs for the marketplace; creating secure deployment workflows; and integrating with existing cloud services.
You'll write clean, well-tested code; participate in technical design and code reviews; collaborate across engineering, operations, and product teams; and stay current with industry trends. This is a hands-on technical role requiring 6+ years in infrastructure engineering or software development, with proven experience in CaaS/GPUaaS platforms, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), bare metal infrastructure, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), marketplace design, and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible). Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or Java are essential. US citizenship is required.
