Chainguard is a venture-backed software supply-chain security company that delivers hardened, secure, and production-ready builds of open source software. The company serves Fortune 500 enterprises and global leaders including OpenAI, Snap Inc., and Snowflake.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the AI CI/CD team, you will own features end-to-end—from design through implementation, rollout, and iteration. You'll work on next-generation products at the intersection of security and AI, including the Guardener, hardened GitHub Actions, and Chainguard Agent Skills. This is a small, fast-moving team shipping tools that developers actually use.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning features end-to-end in close partnership with Product and front-end teams
- Navigating ambiguous problems and taking initiative rather than waiting for complete specifications
- Contributing to a product-driven roadmap with real deadlines, prioritizing tradeoffs and shipping iteratively
- Extending Chainguard's agentic AI foundation into customer-facing product experiences
- Bringing strong technical perspective to architectural decisions while collaborating with the team
You'll need 5+ years of software development experience with deep expertise in containers, artifact registries, Docker, and Kubernetes. Strong proficiency with Go (Golang) is required or a demonstrated ability to ramp quickly. Experience building and securing CI/CD systems is essential, along with hands-on experience with AI tooling. You should be comfortable working autonomously, taking initiative, and communicating clearly in English.
The role is fully remote with flexibility to work from Europe, the UK, or the US. Chainguard offers competitive equity packages with 10-year exercise windows, 100% covered health insurance, and a remote-first culture with bi-annual destination summits.
