Maybern is building an agentic operating system for private fund management, transforming how fund managers handle complex workflows and regulatory compliance. The $15T private funds industry is growing at 20% YoY but lacks modern, AI-powered solutions. You'll join a Series B-backed, NYC-based team of top engineering experts to solve this gap.
In this role, you'll be a product-focused AI engineer responsible for building and expanding customer-facing agentic capabilities. Key responsibilities include developing Maybern's chatbot and embedded agent assistance features, designing and implementing patterns for the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to safely interface with fund data, building agentic workflows for automated reconciliation and multi-step tasks, and partnering with product, domain experts, and customers to identify high-impact use cases.
You'll own the evolution of agent capabilities across customer interactions, email-triggered workflows, and complex fund-accounting processes. This is hands-on work—you'll ship production software, reason through complex system architecture, and translate ambiguous product problems into reliable agentic solutions.
The ideal candidate has spent years working with agentic systems in production, understands how to evaluate AI outputs critically, and can identify where agents reliably replace manual work. You're a systems thinker who connects technical decisions to customer value, comfortable navigating evolving product and technology landscapes. Experience building agents, chatbots, MCPs, or similar AI-powered product experiences is expected. You should enjoy learning domain-specific workflows (fund accounting) and applying AI to real problems. Strong collaboration skills and comfort with broad ownership in a fast-moving small team are essential.
