Chime is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join the team building Jade, an AI-powered financial assistant for millions of members. In this role, you'll work across the full breadth of bringing an AI product to life—from designing new agent capabilities and conversation experiences to building evaluation frameworks, observability systems, and guardrails that ensure Jade is reliable and safe.
You'll develop member-facing capabilities that help people manage spending, track subscriptions, and achieve financial goals. You'll also build internal tools, dashboards, and backend services for model routing, prompt management, agent orchestration, and evaluation pipelines. The AI landscape evolves rapidly, and you'll need to learn quickly, adapt to shifting priorities, and proactively identify what's needed next—whether that's a new financial capability, better conversation testing, or systems to maintain quality at scale.
Key responsibilities include designing and scaling new Jade capabilities, developing agent architectures and prompt strategies, building evaluation frameworks and guardrail systems, partnering cross-functionally to solve member pain points, improving system reliability through performance tuning, contributing to technical design and mentoring through code reviews, and bringing curiosity to explore how systems work and can improve.
You bring 5+ years of backend software development in production environments, proficiency with AI tooling and AI-native development, strong Python or comparable framework skills, experience with transactional databases (Postgres) and caching systems (Redis), familiarity with high-scale architectural patterns, a focus on maintainable well-tested code, and a drive to learn and dive deep into technical systems.
