Okta's Auth0 team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the AI Agentic Experience team, focusing on building the next generation of authentication infrastructure for the GenAI era. This role sits within Auth0 Emerging Tech, a dynamic engineering organization that ships fast while maintaining high quality standards. You will design and build developer tooling that helps developers secure and manage infrastructure like MCP servers, create demo applications showcasing secure, identity-powered AI use cases, and contribute to open source projects across the AI and identity ecosystem. The role involves writing and maintaining high-quality documentation including API references, quickstarts, and best practices for both developers and AI-native tooling (e.g., llm.txt). Key responsibilities include driving integration with emerging AI frameworks by creating adapters and utilities for agent runtimes and orchestration layers, collaborating with design, product, and security teams to align on developer needs and roadmap direction, and mentoring other engineers while setting strong examples in code quality and architectural thinking. You'll influence engineering standards by leading design discussions and contributing to team-wide architectural decisions, and ensure resilience and security of systems involved in agent-to-agent or model-to-service communication. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record building tools, frameworks, or platforms for developers. You should be proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, Golang, and/or Python, with the ability to move fluidly between front-end and back-end contexts. Experience with LLM APIs, agent runtimes, orchestration layers, or prompt pipelines is expected. Familiarity with authentication and authorization systems (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT) is essential. You should have demonstrated experience leading architecture and design efforts for scalable, production-grade systems, comfort contributing to and maintaining open source projects, and a passion for documentation as part of the developer experience. The role thrives in highly collaborative environments with cross-functional stakeholders.
