Okta's Auth0 team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the AI Agentic Experience team, focusing on building infrastructure and developer tooling for the next generation of AI-powered authentication systems.
You'll design and build developer tooling that helps engineers secure and manage infrastructure like MCP servers, create demo applications showcasing secure, identity-powered AI use cases, and contribute to open-source projects across the AI and identity ecosystem. Your work will include writing comprehensive documentation (API references, quickstarts, best practices, and AI-native formats like llm.txt), driving integrations with emerging AI frameworks through adapters and utilities, and collaborating with design, product, and security teams to align on developer needs and roadmap direction.
Key responsibilities include mentoring other engineers, setting strong examples in code quality and testing practices, influencing engineering standards through design discussions and architectural decisions, and ensuring resilience and security of systems involved in agent-to-agent and model-to-service communication.
You should have 5+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record building tools, frameworks, or platforms for developers. Required skills include proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Golang, and/or Python, with the ability to move fluidly between front-end and back-end contexts. Experience with LLM APIs, agent runtimes, orchestration layers, or prompt pipelines is expected. Familiarity with authentication and authorization systems (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT) is essential. You should have demonstrated experience leading architecture and design efforts for scalable, production-grade systems, comfort contributing to and maintaining open-source projects, and a passion for documentation as part of developer experience. Ability to thrive in collaborative environments with cross-functional stakeholders is critical.
