Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform enabling organizations to harness IoT data for actionable insights across physical operations including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing.
You will join Samsara's Platform EMEA organization to build foundational capabilities for the company's agentic experiences. The role focuses on full-stack development with emphasis on backend and distributed systems, including work on the Public API, Samsara MCP servers, integration framework, eventing platform, and data-fetching infrastructure for Advanced Custom Reports.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing full-stack solutions that serve enterprise customers at significant scale, requiring high availability and predictable performance
- Building foundational capabilities enabling AI agents to securely discover data, use tools, integrate with external systems, and execute reliable workflows
- Designing systems for high throughput, availability, observability, security, and maintainability
- Applying AI assistants (Codex, Claude Code, Cursor) across design, implementation, testing, debugging, and code review
- Improving frameworks, tooling, and engineering practices across Samsara
- Mentoring other engineers and contributing to architectural decisions and technical strategy
- Hiring, developing, and leading an inclusive, high-performing team
You should be a pragmatic full-stack engineer with particular strength in backend systems, motivated by high-volume systems and demanding reliability requirements. You should be an expert user of AI engineering tools, a lifelong learner embracing unfamiliar technologies, and a strong team player balancing independent ownership with cross-functional collaboration. Experience with platform engineering, APIs, integrations, data access, and event-driven architecture is valued.
