ShopMy is a unicorn ($1.5B valuation) transforming e-commerce by building infrastructure for human-led curation at scale. The company helps brands run performance-driven creator programs while enabling top creators to monetize their influence and partner directly with brands.
You'll join a small, high-ownership team building ShopMy's agent orchestration platform—the core system where AI agents are built, run, managed, and improved. This is a platform engineering role with direct users: agent managers who design and operate agents will build on top of what you ship, providing feedback in hours rather than quarters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and evolve the orchestration core: a declarative trigger system spanning Slack, Linear, cron, and HTTP; durable workflows; and agent runs that suspend/resume around human approvals
- Identify abstractions that keep the platform general-purpose, so new agents compose existing machinery rather than forking code paths
- Build the tool layer giving agents capabilities: Slack, Linear, GitHub, Notion, MCP, and a dynamic tool registry
- Develop the management console (React) that agent managers use to create, evaluate, and improve agents
- Make agent behavior legible through run tracing, evals, judges, feedback loops, and per-run cost attribution
- Design and implement APIs in TypeScript and NestJS backed by Postgres
- Deploy and operate the platform on AWS (ECS, ALB, CloudFormation, CloudWatch)
You should have strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and relational databases. Experience building systems other engineers build on (internal platforms, frameworks, orchestration, developer tooling) is essential. You need hands-on experience with LLMs—comfortable building agents yourself, understanding tool calling, context, memory, and evaluating nondeterministic behavior. Experience deploying and operating production services on AWS is required. The role values AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Cursor) as a core working practice.
Bonus experience includes durable-execution or workflow engines (Temporal), agent systems and frameworks (LangGraph, Claude Agent SDK), MCP servers, eval harnesses, high-growth startup environments, and mentoring.
