Salary: USD 160,000 - 200,000 / annual
Gopuff is a rapid-delivery platform that brings everyday goods—snacks, household items, beverages, and more—to customers within minutes. The company also operates a fulfillment network as a service for enterprise partners.
You will join the engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer focused on third-party partnerships. Your primary responsibility is integrating Gopuff's software with external systems and APIs. You will lead technical strategy and mentor an empowered engineering team, ensuring high-quality delivery of partnership integration services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions for 3P integrations
- Implement system and data monitors to ensure business process correctness
- Lead cross-functional projects in an agile environment and participate in planning
- Scope, decompose, and organize projects for multiple teammates; delegate tasks and coordinate delivery with minimal oversight
- Generate accurate time estimates to inform project timelines
- Support development best practices across your team (syntax, design patterns, testing, quality)
- Provide operational support and engineering for large distributed software applications
- Integrate with existing REST APIs, author new APIs, and expose data to frontend
- Contribute to team-wide business and technical objectives beyond assigned goals
You will work with high-velocity (millions of transactions) and high-volume (millions of records) data systems. Success is measured by your team's effective delivery of partnership integration services.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Proven experience in a senior engineering role with increasing responsibility
- Proficiency with SQL, Postgres, Java, Go (golang), and/or Node.js
- Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and their application in building data-intensive applications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to mentor a team and lead without direction
PREFERRED:
- Tech lead experience for a small team with interest in continued growth toward Manager or Principal Engineer roles
- Experience with Terraform, Pulumi, Helm, GitHub Actions
- SQL data analysis experience (Snowflake/BigQuery) and familiarity with data pipelines
- Message-based, async processing experience
- Production JavaScript/SPA experience (Vue, React)
- Production public cloud experience (Azure preferred)
- 8+ years of experience
