Salary: USD 140,000 - 160,000 / annual
Ellipsis Health is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to validate and improve the quality of its AI/ML-powered healthcare platform. The role combines hands-on manual testing with automation engineering to ensure reliability, performance, and usability across end-to-end system workflows.
You will design and build scalable test automation frameworks using tools like Playwright or Selenium, with proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Python. Key responsibilities include performing manual and automated testing across system features, designing comprehensive test plans for end-to-end behavior, validating integrations and workflows, and conducting exploratory testing to uncover edge cases. You'll identify and document defects, collaborate with engineering teams on resolution, and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality validation.
The role requires close collaboration with engineering, product, and AI/ML teams. You'll participate in Agile ceremonies, support release validation and regression testing, define quality metrics, and contribute to improving overall testing strategy and processes.
Required qualifications include 5+ years as an SDET with strong functional testing and automation experience, hands-on expertise building test automation frameworks, experience with complex or distributed systems, and proficiency in test design techniques and QA methodologies. You should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Nice-to-have skills include experience testing conversational voice AI agents, familiarity with monitoring tools like Datadog or Splunk, understanding of authentication/authorization patterns, healthcare or regulated environment experience, and knowledge of LLM/GenAI testing considerations.
