ID.me is a digital identity platform serving 152+ million users across 20 federal agencies, 45 state government agencies, and 70+ healthcare organizations. The company provides secure identity verification and seamless login experiences, meeting NIST 800-63-3 IAL2/AAL2 standards.
You will join the Person team as a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer, owning the design and implementation of the canonical identity record system—the core data model that defines who a person is on ID.me. This role combines backend and frontend expertise to build the APIs, services, and user experiences that serve as the source of truth for personal data across millions of members and partner integrations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting and scaling the Person platform to ensure security, consistency, and performance across ID.me's ecosystem
- Designing and implementing significant platform areas, including the person data model, merge/split logic, and identity rules
- Building Backend for Frontend APIs and services that power the unified person experience
- Partnering with design teams to create intuitive user interfaces for identity management
- Setting standards for code quality, testing, observability, and incident response
- Mentoring senior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, design critiques, and technical pairing
- Championing AI-augmented development practices using tools like Claude Code
- Working cross-functionally to understand how person data is consumed across teams and solving real integration needs
Required qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent); 7+ years full-stack production development; 7+ years backend experience (Python, Go, or Java); 7+ years frontend development (Angular, React, etc.).
Preferred: TypeScript/React expertise; experience with identity resolution, entity matching, deduplication, or record merge/split at scale; proven ability building and evolving public REST/GraphQL APIs for multiple consumers; deep relational database experience.
