Delinea is an identity security platform that uses AI-powered intelligence to govern human and machine identities across cloud infrastructure, data, SaaS applications, and AI systems. The company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build core identity and authorization primitives for AI agents—a foundational role that will shape the technical direction of the platform.
In this role, you will own the design of Delinea's identity model for AI agents, including delegated (on-behalf-of) actions, composite identities, and audit attribution. You'll build the real-time authorization engine that determines what agents are allowed to do, selecting and integrating underlying policy technologies such as Cedar, OPA, or AuthZEN. You'll define trust establishment for identities from external platforms like Microsoft Entra and Salesforce, and emerging standards like OpenID Connect for agents.
You'll also build authorization and continuous-evaluation capabilities that leverage live session and decision signals from existing identity products. A key responsibility is owning the interfaces and contracts that other platform teams depend on, ensuring they remain clean and scalable as the platform grows. You'll act as a technical leader across teams, setting direction on identity and authorization strategy and raising engineering standards.
The role reports directly to the Director of Engineering, Securing AI. You'll need 7+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in identity, authorization, or distributed systems security. Hands-on experience building authorization systems (Cedar, OPA, OpenFGA) and working knowledge of identity standards (OAuth, OpenID Connect, SPIFFE, SPIRE, workload identity federation) are essential. You should have a track record of designing systems and interfaces that scale across multiple teams and the ability to lead technical decisions and communicate them to diverse audiences.
Ideal candidates may have experience securing AI or agentic systems, contributions to identity/authorization standards or open source, or background in privileged access, secrets management, or identity governance.
