Wealthsimple, Canada's leading financial innovator with 4+ million users and $125B+ in assets under administration, is building crypto infrastructure at scale. The Crypto team is expanding decentralized finance access for Canadians, combining fintech simplicity with blockchain technology.
As a Senior Crypto Software Developer, you'll architect and build stablecoin infrastructure and crypto products from the ground up. You'll design integrations with DEXs, DeFi protocols, and wallet providers; build product experiences around digital cash for trading, transfers, and on-chain workflows; and help establish technical standards for crypto development at Wealthsimple.
Key responsibilities include: architecting new crypto products giving users control over digital assets; implementing integrations with leading protocols and wallet providers; building stablecoin infrastructure and user experiences; expanding asset selection and improving existing crypto offerings; working with blockchain technology and contributing to DeFi evolution; collaborating cross-functionally to deliver experiences to 1M+ crypto users; and establishing best practices for crypto development.
You bring proven crypto/blockchain development experience with deep familiarity integrating DEXs, wallets, stablecoins, and smart contract protocols. You understand blockchain fundamentals (transaction mechanics, gas optimization, security), have hands-on experience with Ethereum and Layer 2 solutions, and working knowledge of smart contract development (EVM/SVM). You know DeFi protocols, AMMs, and decentralized exchange mechanisms; understand crypto security best practices (key management, multi-sig); and are proficient with Web3 libraries (ethers.js, web3.js). You have solid full-stack development background in React, React Native, Ruby on Rails, Java, Kotlin, or Python, strong problem-solving skills, and passion for decentralized finance's potential.
