Wealthsimple's Machine Learning Platform (MLP) team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build the foundational infrastructure that powers all ML and GenAI workloads across the company. You'll work with data scientists and engineering teams to move models from experimentation to production at scale, designing and implementing standardized, framework-agnostic services for model training, inference, evaluation, and monitoring. In this role, you'll establish the technical roadmap and architecture for Wealthsimple's ML platform, partnering with stakeholders across product domains and infrastructure to solve complex technical problems. You'll build highly performant, scalable systems on Kubernetes and Ray, working with significant autonomy to set technical direction for major projects. Your responsibilities include providing centralized, governed access to internal and external LLMs and defining how ML models are trained, shipped, and operated company-wide. You'll own projects end-to-end and maintain complex systems long-term. The tech stack includes Kubernetes, FastAPI, MLflow, Ray, Bedrock, vLLM, Chronon Feature Store, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redshift, and Snowflake. You should have 5+ years implementing production-ready services, 5+ years in ML infrastructure/tooling/engineering, 3+ years with Python, and proven experience designing scalable systems with strong observability. Familiarity with the ML ecosystem (PyTorch, Transformers, feature stores, Elasticsearch, Triton, CUDA, DVC, vLLM) is preferred. Wealthsimple is Canada's leading fintech company serving 4+ million users with $155B+ in assets under administration. The company offers managed investing, trading, cryptocurrency, tax filing, and spending/savings products. You'll join a hybrid team of 1,500+ talented professionals across North America, with benefits including top-tier health coverage, 20 vacation days, 4 wellness days, unlimited sick/mental health days, and the ability to work outside Canada up to 90 days annually.
