Robinhood is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join the Developer Experience (DevX) team in Toronto. The DevX team's mission is to build and operate core developer infrastructure that thousands of engineers rely on daily, making development fast, reliable, and cost-efficient across the organization.
In this role, you will focus on building and scaling developer infrastructure systems. Key responsibilities include managing and optimizing monorepo builds using Bazel, owning the remote build execution cluster that powers them, and ensuring fast, stable builds with short feedback loops. You'll scale CI pipelines to support thousands of daily builds, focusing on speed, safety, and reliability while managing GitHub repository configurations, pre-merge checks, and test executions.
Additionally, you'll improve the developer onboarding experience by reducing time-to-first-commit and making it easier for new engineers to become productive. You'll provide and maintain remote development environments to accelerate local workflows, ensuring developers can code, test, and deploy with minimal friction.
You bring experience building and maintaining developer infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, or large-scale build systems such as Bazel. You're proficient in writing clean, maintainable code in Go or Python, with experience in distributed or remote build execution systems. You have a solid understanding of containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes, strong problem-solving skills, and a focus on improving developer productivity and engineering workflows.
This role is based in the Toronto office with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.
