Wealthsimple's Delivery Platform team owns the complete deployment lifecycle, building and maintaining CI/CD infrastructure, deployment systems, and observability tools that enable hundreds of engineers to ship secure, high-quality software to millions of users. As a Senior Developer, you will architect systems that make shipping code fast, safe, and transparent.
Key responsibilities include evolving progressive delivery with Argo Rollouts and GitOps by enhancing canary deployment strategies, improving automated health checks and rollback triggers, and building self-service deployment tools. You'll optimize CI/CD infrastructure at scale by improving CI workflows, optimizing build times across hundreds of services, and enhancing artifact management and package publishing workflows.
You will design and implement deployment gates and guardrails that prevent production incidents through automated quality checks including end-to-end testing, load testing, and progressive delivery validations. You'll build world-class deployment observability and visibility by creating comprehensive deployment monitoring, dashboards, and alerting through Datadog and custom tooling, integrating deployment metrics into Backstage.
As part of Wealthsimple's 2026 reliability mission, you'll implement chaos testing frameworks to validate system resilience, build automated rollback mechanisms, and create deployment confidence metrics. You'll champion engineering excellence by partnering with teams across Wealthsimple to understand deployment pain points, sharing expertise through documentation and training, and mentoring mid-level engineers.
Required: 7+ years of software development experience with significant platform engineering, DevOps, CI/CD, or SRE background. Deep expertise with Kubernetes, GitOps workflows (ArgoCD), progressive delivery patterns, and CI/CD infrastructure at scale. Strong experience building deployment pipelines using tools like Buildkite, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI. Expertise in reliability engineering and observability with platforms like Datadog or Prometheus. Technical versatility with TypeScript, Ruby, Python, Kotlin, or similar languages. Experience with AWS, Terraform, or infrastructure automation. Product mindset for internal platforms and collaborative spirit with passion for mentorship.
