Join Orca Security's Data Platform team as a Senior Software Engineer, where you'll architect and build the core data ingestion and processing infrastructure powering the company's cloud security platform. This is a strategic role within one of Orca's most critical engineering groups, responsible for handling billions of cloud signals daily while ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency across the entire platform. You'll own critical components of the cloud security data pipeline, drive architectural decisions on how data is ingested, normalized, and distributed to product teams, and lead a major architectural transformation currently underway. The team is evolving ingestion and processing layers to support real-time pipelines, improved observability, and horizontal scalability. On a typical day, you'll write production-ready, well-tested code that meets design specifications and anticipates edge cases. You'll diagnose complex distributed systems issues, evaluate solutions, and execute them within an Agile delivery framework. You'll lead initiatives end-to-end from design through deployment, collaborate cross-functionally to solve problems, and develop deep expertise in AWS, Azure, and GCP products. The tech stack includes Python, Go, Rust, SingleStore, Postgres, Elasticsearch, Redis, Kafka, and AWS. You'll work on large-scale distributed systems, implement new requirements while adhering to architectural principles, and provide input into product architecture and design. You bring 5+ years of professional software development experience, proven expertise building data-intensive systems at scale, and hands-on experience with microservice architecture and cloud-native services. You have solid fundamentals in software design principles, concurrency, synchronization, memory management, data structures, and algorithms. Experience with databases like SingleStore, Postgres, Elasticsearch, and Redis is required. Python or Go experience is advantageous. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience is expected.
